The Air Jordan XII was released in 1996, when the Air Jordan brand became an official Nike subsidiary. Tinker Hatfield designed the new model of MJ’s signature line producing a very sturdy and durable Basketball shoe, inspired by the 'Rising Sun' of Japan. The most memorable Air Jordan 12 is the black and red colorway, which Michael wore during the NBA Finals in 1997 while having the flu.
