The thousands of EVA-Balls saving energy from every step and helps you to make every step very comfortable. The Adidas Ultra boost combines the high comfort of the Boost-Sole with the low weight of the Primeknit Upper. Primeknit is able to create a shoe out of only one piece. It is very flexible and feels like a second skin. First created as a running performance shoe, is it now one of the most popular lifestyle shoes. The Ultra Boost is also very interesting for a couple of Collabo Partners. For example, the work together from Adidas and Hypebeast is one of the candidates for the unofficial shoe of the year award.
Adidas UltraBOOST 1.0
The world keeps on changing and recent times validate such statement. Trying to stay one step ahead of the competition, 2015 was marked by the introduction of the adidas UltraBOOST. The technology itself was not new (the EnergyBOOST was the first adidas shoe to feature BOOST technology), however it was embraced by athletes and hypebeasts, all at once. To make things simple, adidas collaborated with BASF to create specialised TPU pellets for the midsole, helping runners get the most energy return. In addition, a super lightweight upper in Primeknit made the adidas UltraBOOST a must have in everyone’s sneaker rotation. Made for running or casual wear, one can say that the silhouette came do disrupt everything we thought we knew about footwear.
Adidas UltraBOOST 2.0
Some say that the UltraBOOST was adidas secret weapon, donned by Yoham Blake and David Villa in early 2015. The release was so successful that even Kanye West wore them. As expected, everyone jumped on the Yeezy train. Apart from minor twitches, the UltraBOOST 2.0 had a greater lifespan. In addition, as the sneaker community started to get tired of white midsoles, German’s finest quickly came up with the formula to colour BOOST, increasing their reach. Even if the hype was short lived, at some stage, everyone can still remember the campouts, absurd resell prices and of course, all the DIY attempts.
Adidas UltraBOOST 3.0
Like everything else in life, you might love or hate something. Nevertheless, and just like his older brothers, the adidas UltraBOOST 3 was a great accomplishment. The reworked Primeknit Upper was the biggest optical change, which also caused a lot of discussion between sneakerenthusiasts. However, the silhouette boasted adidas’ Torsion System, improving stability and providing enhanced grip. To make it stick, some collaborations were made – Parley Ocean, to be specific. Plastic was gathered from the ocean and used around the cage, midsole and Primeknit. The brand prides itself to have created a pair that helps the environment we live in.
Adidas UltraBOOST 4.0
Going back and forth and after quite a few releases and collaborations, this iteration of the adidas UltraBOOST gathered all the best features from previous releases. Debuted in 2018, the silhouette has become one of the most recognizable of all time, being updated for optimal performance. In fact, the Primeknit pattern has been reworked, once again, taking cues from the UltraBOOST 1.0. Moreover, it feels even lighter, yet keeping its flexibility and sock-like characteristics. A great contender for one of the best Summer pairs of all time, some may argue, due to its larger Primeknit gaps. For last, but not least, the adidas UltraBOOST 4.0 displays 29mm of BOOST (22mm in previous models) altogether with 200mm midsole drop, delivering first-class angles during intensive training.
Adidas UltraBOOST 19
The adidas UltraBOOST 19 is like having a second skin, delivering that natural feel you have always craved. This iteration displays a reinvented silhouette, yet keeping all standards we all know of. Built with motion-wave technology, this performance running shoe is adaptive, stretchable and responsive. Its Primeknit 360 upper makes it super lightweight. Moreover, the Stretchweb outsole naturally flexes during energized strides while the Continental™ Rubber underfoot helps on the extra grip.
Adidas UltraBOOST 20
As technology keeps on moving forward, so does footwear. Wearing the adidas UltraBOOST 20 is being hugged by a giant teddy-bear. Due to its Tailored Fibre Placement in Primeknit and textile, the silhouette is comfortable and snug, delivering a locked-in feel. Furthermore, elastane is present at the heel, allowing for a more comfortable and snug fit. Delivered with a full-length BOOST midsole, these high-performance running sneakers are made to last. They are delivered with ISS National Lab/Laboratory™ NASA´s trademark, hence its space shuttle inspiration for the design. After all, each piece provides a unique purpose.
Adidas UltraBOOST DNA
Built for the tracks, adopted by the streets. From the very beginning, the adidas UltraBOOST has been shifting from side to side, having an impact far beyond the running world. In other words, they are loved by athletes and casual wearers. The DNA iteration is all about that, a high-spec silhouette than can be worn every single day. Known to be one of the most comfortable pair on the market, as always, its Primeknit upper delivers that locked-in feel, being adaptive and sleek. The BOOST technology underfoot allows for extra responsiveness and energy return while the Stretchweb outsole with Continental™ Rubber enhances on-feet traction.
