The Nike Air Jordan II was released in 1986 by the beginning of the new NBA season. The Air Jordan I’s, released just one year earlier, were very successful so Nike decided to go one step further designing a luxurious Basketball shoe made in Italy. Nike released both high- and low-top versions and Peter Moore left out the Swoosh which was unusual for that time. Moreover, the Air Jordan 2 is the only Air Jordan that did not get produced in black. Young Michael scored 61 points in one game, played in the NBA All-Star game and won the Dunking Contest that season. The shoe has been reissued 6 times by popular demand.
