Curated style from Kiko Kostadinov Studio and the ASICS SportStyle development team. The UB7-S GT-2160™ sneaker is inspired by the themes of Interlaced Assemblages, Functional Utopias and Mino Ceramics, combining soft textures with the idea of handcrafted elements found in iconic artworks. By creating matte and washed-out colours, the design team was able to enhance the archival form and construction of the traditional running shoe.Contrasting grid-like patterns and bold, opaque colours, the Functional Utopia-inspired variations make a direct reference to nature. These glossy primary colours are set off by metallic textures that accentuate the double-layered mesh materialisation. The designers also explored the influences of Mino ceramics by investigating the contemporary processes of rust-like properties that occur in Mino glazes. This process considers images as a vessel with attenuated colours that can stand the test of time.
